Retraction FSW
Retraction Friction Stir Welding was developed to eliminate the distinctive keyhole after welding. The shoulder of the tool and the pin are separate structures. The pin is gradually withdrawn into the shoulder before the welding is complete, to fill the keyhole of the weld. Retraction FSW is especially effective for welding techniques such as the cylinder weld, which guarantees the integrity of the product structure after welding.
